Chainsaw safety
« on: February 06, 2008, 12:39:29 PM »

Hopefully chainsaws are adequately related to trees!
I am trying to find a consultant who can advise on the safety of the design of imported chainsaws.
I want to assess the validity of the CE marking.

Hi Doug,

I'm interested to hear what your worry is about the kit you've bought.  What is it about the design that concerns you?

I did a quick search and found this site (which i've not tested).  Maybe it will help.

Happy to advise on industry standard chainsaws.

Ian.

Our company certifies the CE marking of machinery imported into the EU. We want to add chainsaws to our scope of activity, so I need to find an expert who can assess technical information and test reports about chainsaws, specifically to the standard EN ISO 11681. Most experts will work for manufacturers who will not be interested in certifying compe-ive imports, so I need to find an independent source of expertise. Any ideas?
